Knight Bros. and Dad Railroad
This layout was founded on Dec. 25, 1995. It all began when Richard gave his two sons, Chris and Ben, train sets for Christmas. It started on a 4x8 sheet of plywood, but later evolved into what the layout is today. The layout is set on the Norfolk Southern RR's
"S" line. This line runs between Salisbury(Spencer), to Asheville.
The time period is today.
At Spencer, there is an interchange with the
North-South NS line. Included are the facilities that are now part of the
North Carolina Transportation Museum. From Spencer, the line winds through the
countryside to Statesville, where there is an interchange with the Alexander
RR. Traveling further west you go through Hickory, Marion, and on to Asheville
Yard. There are three major yards on this layout. These are Spencer,
Oyama(Hickory), and Asheville. The layout has over 500 feet of track, and is
operated by the Digitrax(DCC) Super Chief with radio controlled throttles.
