This layout is being built by Pat and Mike Boyle.  We are Wisconsin natives.
The layout is set in the Southern area of Wisconsin. There is no set locations,
just scenery that is typical of the southern region of Wisconsin.

The main railroads featured are:
            The Chicago & Northwestern, and
            The Milwaukee Road.

We model both steam, and diesel eras. We have a wide range of motive power, as well as rolling stock.

The layout is 11'x22', with a pit in the middle. All switches have tortoise machines, and the layout is
powered by the Digitrax DCC Super Chief.

The layout is set on the Norfolk Southern RR's "S" line. This line runs between Salisbury(Spencer), to Asheville. The time period is today.
At Spencer, there is an interchange with the North-South NS line. Included are the facilities that are now part of the North Carolina Transportation Museum. From Spencer, the line winds through the countryside to Statesville, where there is an interchange with the Alexander RR. Traveling further west you go through Hickory, Marion, and on to Asheville Yard. There are three major yards on this layout. These are Spencer, Oyama(Hickory), and Asheville. The layout has over 500 feet of track, and is operated by the Digitrax(DCC) Super Chief with radio controlled throttles.

Richard is a member of the Concord Area Model Railroad Club, and hosts monthly operating sessions

This popular layout can be seen annually at The Charlotte Christmas Show as well as as at many of the areas Model railroad shows.

Metrolina Model Railroad Club is home to the French Broad & Catawba RR.
This railroad, set in 50's of North Carolina, is host to some beautiful scenery
including a trailer park, coal mine, massive steam station, and even the local
County fair. This casual group of hobbyists meet on a "come when  you can"
basis in Belmont, NC. There are no dues, or other membership requirements.

The layout is built in modular sections. There are some 4ft. sections, and
some 8ft. sections. Any two straight modular sections can mate gether, and
this is true with the corner modules as well. So, the layouts design is almost
endless. The layout is powered by Digitrax DCC system.

The club displays the layout at train shows in the area. They have won
numerous awards at the Great American Train Shows, in Charlotte. The
club, also, sets up each year for 10 days of fun, at the Southern
Christmas Show in Charlotte. This event is host to everything Christmas
including the railroad. So, if you are interested in joining the club, please
contact Bob Stroup, or
Rick Beam

Come on a brief journey of the Illinois Central Railroad. This beautiful layout is a pier to pier type. It runs from Chicago, to Ft. Dodge. Along the way you pass through Rockford, Dubuque, and Lynnville. Lynnville is a town named after Larry's wife. All the industries are named after children and grandchildren. Larry uses Digitrax for operating the layout, and has signal control, as well. He hosts operating sessions once a month. Fun is had by all who attend.

One of the Charlotte area's oldest layouts, created and lovingly maintained by Jack Parker and the gang.. This railroad is under Digitrax control and features a fully sceniced layout that spans two buildings. It has multiple yards for staging local freights as well as switching the coal drags in and out of Duke Energy power plants. It has passenger trains as well as local freights picking up and dropping off passengers and goods to area businesses.

Primarily steam, many of these engines are over 20 years old.

The P&W gang meets for monthly operating sessions that include a Dispatcher and multiple Yard Masters directing and controlling traffic.
